111 PARTICIPATE IN MINI MARATHON ORGANISED BY DHOLEWAL MILITARY COMPLEX

Dedicated to the 72nd Independence Day, the Dholewal Military Complex organised a Mini Marathon, here today. On this occasion, the military band and aero model equipments were put on display. In today’s mini marathon, 111 participants from different parts of the state took place.

While giving further information, Brigadier Manish Arora informed that the main aim of organising this mini marathon was to inculcate a sense of patriotism and communal harmony amongst our residents, besides making the people aware about the strengths of Indian Army. He said that the people should feel proud about the capabilities of Indian Army.  He also urged the school students to join the Indian Army if they want to serve our nation. 

Early in the morning, the Mini Marathon started from Dholewal Military Complex at 6:30 am and passed through Dholewal Chowk, Vishwakarma Chowk, coming back to Dholewal Chowk, Sherpur Chowk and finally ending at Dholewal Military Complex, here.

Robin Singh from Sports Authority of India stood first and he was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 5,000, a medal and a certificate. Similarly, Soldier Lakhbir Singh and Soldier Jagdeep Singh stood second and third respectively and were awarded with cash prize of Rs 3000 and Rs 2000 respectively, along with medals and certificates.

On this occasion, the Military Band was put on display along with a performance by aero model teams. Those present on the occasion included Col Tapan Chauhan, Retired Major SS Rana, a large number of school students, besides several others.
