Amidst reports of going off air, once again, The Kapil Sharma Show has recorded low TRPs (5.3 million impressions). Post the exit of Sunil Grover and other key members of the hit comedy show, the show’s popularity has suffered big-time. Not so long ago, the show garnered the impressions of over 7 million, giving a strong competition to the No. 1 soap Naagin.
In fact, in 2017, the show–barring the first week–managed the average rating of 6.4 million impressions, which is commendable for a non-fiction weekly show. But for the past three weeks, the show is just not performing.
TKSS, that premiered in April last year, has seen its share of ups and downs. First, it did not exactly open on a brilliant note. In the initial few weeks, the show, on an average, could just about manage 5-5.5 million. But as the weeks passed by, the show’s ratings saw a marked improvement, also because the creative team and Kapil worked really hard on their guest list and introducing innovative concepts.
But sadly, the team work, the friendship, the marvellous work, all has been spoiled after the mid-air feud between Kapil and Sunil.
We can only pray for the show’s revival now.
