NIIFT Students once again showcased their creativity

All set to join the fashion industry, the graduating students of Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology (NIIFT), Ludhiana today showcased their creative talent through – ‘Anukama 17’- Annual Design Collection show. Versatile outfits designed especially for theme-based sequences by NIIFT, Ludhiana students, were gracefully portrayed by professional models as they walked down the ramp.

Under the dynamic guidance of Shri Rakesh Kumar Verma, IAS, Commissioner cum Director, Industries & Commerce, Punjab, the show was a huge success with ramp dazzling with the designer outfits worn by some of the renowned models. Students created mesmerizing collection following various themes. It was choreographed by renowned choreographer, Hemant Mehta and the venue was Guru Nanak Dev Auditorium, Ludhiana.

Every collection had a unique inspirational source behind them. Drawing inspiration from magnified shapes, digital printing, ice-cream cones and Sundays, the sport of hockey-the students experimented with technology, non-conventional material, color palettes, silhouettes and fabrics in their collections.

Anukama’17 was a design collection show where three years of thorough training and six months of diligent preparation were presented. Each student of Fashion Design and Fashion Design Knits Department individually had worked on a theme and presented five ensembles related to that theme.

The students of NIIFT, Ludhiana are specially trained to solve the problems and undertaken explorations relating to latest technology, raw materials and processes to develop creative collections.

The show presented a rich blend of lovely 44 collections designed by talented and creatively thinking fashion graduates from Ludhiana centre. These young students came up with fabulous collections ranging high on style quotient from very wearable to the most experimental ones. The students also had creatively used woven, knits, rib, woolen blends, khadi, silk, cotton, appliqué work, digital printing, to enhance the creativity of their themes and collection.
