Instead of criticizing the job fairs, opposition parties should come forward to provide jobs for the youth: Channi

Ludhiana, The Punjab Technical Education and Industrial Training Minister Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi has asked the Badal family, Bikram Majithia and Sukhpal Khaira to come forward to provide jobs to the Punjabi Youth in their industrial empires instead of criticizing the employment fairs which are being held across the state. ‘If they can not do this then they should stop issuing unnecessary statements just to be in the media limelight and let the Punjab government do its work to strengthen the youth of Punjab’, said Channi.

Mr. Channi replaying to media queries at a Mega Job Fair at Industrial Training Institute here today, said that the opposition leaders are misleading the people on the issue of Mega Job Fairs. He said that this is the Unique initiative of the Punjab government which has brought 4 lac youth, 900 companies and all private and government institutes on a single platform to provide jobs to the youth of the state.

He said that the due to the success of the Job Fair campaign opposition leaders are critcising as they feel that Punjab Government is on the track of fulfilling ‘Ghar Gahr Naukri’ manifesto promise. ‘The companies have recruited Punjabi youth on the packages 1.25 lac to 12 lac annually during Mega Job Fairs’, added Channi.

Mr. Channi said that Badal & Majithia families have big industrial empires and they could provide jobs to thousands of Punjabi Youth but they have never done so. He further said Badal’s daughter in law and Majithia’s sister is a food processing minister in the Union government but she had not made any effort to setup food processing industry in the state or provide jobs or employment to the Punjabi Youth in this sector.

He accused the central government led by Narendra Modi of betraying Sikhs in the name of investigation of the 1984 massacre of Sikhs. He said that the Central Government had set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) for justice to the Sikhs but this team closed about 141 cases without any inquiry. In this regard, the Honorable Supreme Court had issued a ruling yesterday to reopen these case and reinvestigate them. ‘Harsimrat Badal must resign from the Union Ministry on moral grounds owing this responsibility of injustice done by Modi Government to the sikhs.

Asked about the development of the Dera controversy, he said that the state’s so-called Sikh leadership and the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee were responsible for all such problems. He said that the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee should pay attention to the propagation of Sikhism rather than doing petty politics.

While addressing the gathering at the function, he said that the Punjab Government has devised a special scheme for skill development of the youth under which the youth will be made skilled and employable. During this training, an allowance of Rs. 5000 per month would be given. He also announced a grant of Rs 50 lakh to the Government Industrial Training Institute (Boys) Ludhiana. He said that many reforms are being made in the field of technical education in the state.

Lok Sabha member Ravneet Singh Bittu thanked the Punjab government for making a big effort to bring the youth on their feet by introducing such innovate job fair scheme. He said that these employment fairs will continue in future and every written person will get his job according to their education qualification & professional training.
