PHD CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ORGANIZES INTERACTIVE SESSION ON PROCEDURES AND ISSUES IN REFUND & E-WAY BILL

Ludhiana, March 23 (CNI)-Addressing an interactive session on Procedures and Issues in Refund & E-Way Bill under GST organised by the PHD Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) and Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU) here today at Ludhiana.

Addressing an interactive session, Chief Guest, Shri Sukhchain Singh, Deputy Commissioner CGST & CX, Audit, Ludhiana, Govt. of Punjab said that the department was ever ready to cooperate with the traders and industry members in conceptual clarities regarding the E-way bill. He said that the department was at the disposal of traders to ensure that they have better understanding of newly introduced e-way bill. He further said, we are here to sort out queries of the industry members and offer solutions to the problems being faced by them.

Shri Upkar Singh Ahuja, Convenor, Ludhiana Region, Punjab Committee, PHD Chamber said that with this bill coming into enforcement, the way has been paved for the traders for smooth and hassle free movement of goods in a transparent manner.

While speaking on the occasion, Shri Parampreet Rai, AETC, Department of Excise and Taxation, Ludhiana said that E-way bill is getting implemented nationwide from 1 April 2018 for inter-state movement of goods. He assured that the department would leave no stone unturned for facilitating the traders in getting abreast to the procedures of E-way and  said that such awareness workshops were the need of hour to make the traders aware about the new system.

Adv. Pawan K Pahwa, Partner, Panacea Legal Services, Chandigarh answered the queries of the industry and explained how to obtain tax refunds from the Revenue department and elaborated the procedures which are required to be complied for obtaining the refund in case of exports or invert tax structure under GST. In his detailed presentation, he mentioned that E-way bill will not be needed in case of goods transported by a non-motorized conveyance. In case of multiple consignments, transporter needs to generate a consolidated e-way bill. If goods are transferred from one vehicle to another then transporter would be required to generate a new e-way, he added. CA Deepak Joshi, Panacea Legal Services, Chandigarh apprised participants on Procedure & Issues in filing GSTR 3B including Outward Taxable supplies, Inward supplies, Non-GST Outward  supplies; shared details of inter-state supplies made to unregistered persons and new changes in GSTR-3B.

Shri Pankaj Sharma, Gen. Secy., CICU Ludhiana moderated the session. Queries and various types of claims were discussed at length during the interactive question and answer session. The programme ended with vote of thanks by Shri Rakesh Bhogal, CICU. Around 150 industry members from in and around Ludhiana region attended and benefited from the programme.
