The International Students’ Week’18 ends successfully at PCTE

LUDHIANA, March 25, 2018: A week long International Students’ Fest ended  on a high note where PCTE has more than 240 International students from 41 countries, The Finale perpetuated in the presence of the Chief Guest H.E. Mr. K.L. Ganju, Consul General (Hony.), Comoros to India and the Guest of Honor Mr. Beya Nkashama Gregorie, Secretary Administrative, from Democratic Republic of Congo. For the past week PCTE has been celebrating the existence of different nationalities and diverse cultures under one roof.

It was a long and gala affair amidst singing, traditional dancing, and different fashion shows. The festival of the foreign students started with the Sports Tournament  where the international students played soccer and other sports events, followed by a various stalls were exhibited in Global Village where students organized their native booths – Display of Culture, Flag & Native commodities along with Information about the country and Tattoo Making, which the followed by International culinary Fest where students showcased the diverse cuisines of world, A trip to Chandigarh was organized the next day where international students visited Rock Garden, Sukhna Lake & Elante Mall, and the next day was followed by the International cuisine day where the students displayed the native dishes of their country.

In the finale, foreign students displayed their talent through Fashion show, Music, Dance etc., In the event, different cultural dresses were showcased through fashion shows, which enlightened the audience on how different countries dress. Toufail a student from Comoros performed a Traditional Dance whereby the students from Bhutan & Maldives also performed their traditional dance forms, Samuel & Wangdi performed a Dance Jam; a song sung by Hayden from PNG etc.

Humam, student and performer from Syria, said, “The PCTE Crowd is no longer just Indian, we can have a feel of studying in an International College as this. We are so happy to have such event and we thank the college for giving us the platform and number of chances to showcase our culture in India.”

On the occasion, Dr. KNS Kang, Director General, PCTE Group of Institutes said that PCTE has more than 240 International students from 41 countries and today they showcased a lot of performances depicting their rich heritage and cultures. It was quite interesting to witness all performances.” He further added that “Organizing such a party is essential, we can bring together students from different cultures and backgrounds together to share each other’s tradition and culture. This is the best way students can explore a lot about other countries.”
