POLICE COMMISSIONER ISSUES VARIOUS PROHIBITORY ORDERS
 
LUDHIANA: Police Commissioner Sukhchain Singh Gill on Tuesday has issued various prohibitory orders to maintain the law and order in the city.
 
Exercising the powers vested under section 144, Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, Police Commissioner has banned the carrying of sand in open by the tractor-trolleys drivers. He has ordered that sand should be properly covered by them otherwise it can cause mishaps.
 
The city police chief has imposed a ban on the goods vehicles that carry passengers in the city’s limit to save the precious lives from any kind of mishap
 
Moreover, considering problems being faced by commuters and obstructions in performing government duty due to various protests and rallies in public places, a designated site for holding any kind of demonstration/dharnas has been earmarked. Now, any kind of protest can be held in Sector-39 A, near Vardhman Mill, Ludhiana. Carrying of dangerous weapons and other materials in the city has also been prohibited.  
 
The city residents have been asked to inform the nearby police stations about the servant, driver, gardener, guard and any type of worker, employed in the homes or factories, with their complete information about background, original residential addresses, and pictures.
 
In a separate order, Singh has also imposed a ban on the loudspeakers from 10 pm to 6 am in the jurisdiction of police commissionerate. The permission should be taken from the concerned authority for loudspeakers during this duration. 
 
Further, the city police chief has also banned the sale of helmets without the ISI mark. He said non-ISI helmets usually got damaged in mishaps, leading to injury to riders. Many accident victims die of head injuries. 
 
In the orders issued here, the police commissioner has said that the orders would be in force for next two months.
