CIVIC AMENITIES TO BE UPGRADED AT ALL FOCAL POINTS OF LUDHIANA: DPS KHARBANDA

For taking first hand account of the existing situation of all Focal Points of the city, Mr DPS Kharbanda, Managing Director, Punjab Small Industries and Export Corporation (PSIEC)-cum-Director, Industries, Punjab, today visited all the Focal Points and assured the industrialists that the civic amenities would be upgraded. During his visit to the Focal Points in the city today, Mr Kharbanda was accompanied by Senior officials from PSIEC as well as the state Industries department.

After his visit to all Phases of the Focal Point, Mr Kharbanda held a meeting with the representatives of industry at Chamber of Commercial and Industrial Undertakings (CICU) in Phase 5, Focal Point, here.

While addressing the industrialists, Mr DPS Kharbanda said that now that he along with his team has visited all the Focal Points in the city, he would be preparing a detailed report and list of improvements required would be prepared and the work would be assigned to the concerned departments so that the infrastructure at these Focal Points is upgraded on war footage.

He said that the PSIEC is in the process of finalising a detailed plan under which all the Focal Points would be upgraded and the civic amenities would be at par with western countries. He said that the officials of all concerned departments such as Municipal Corporation Ludhiana, PSPCL and others have been asked to prepare a detailed plan so that the upgradation work can be started at the earliest.

He assured the industrialists that the Punjab government is committed to provide world class infrastructure to the industrialists in the Focal Points and urged them not to dump any industrial waste on the roadsides. He also directed the MC Ludhiana officials to ensure that the garbage and industrial waste is removed from roadsides at the earliest. He also stated that the roads would be soon constructed and the PSIEC would ensure that the roads are constructed keeping in mind heavy vehicles.
