Actor Aditya Pancholi who was reportedly booked by the Versova Police in a rape case filed for an anticipatory bail in Dindoshi session court earlier on Monday. The anticipatory bail is due for hearing on Tuesday. The Versova police registered a rape and assault case against Pancholi after a leading Bollywood actress accused him of the crime.
“We filed an FIR under Sections 376 (rape), 328 (causing hurt by means of poison, etc with intent to commit an offence), 384 (punishment for extortion), 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Paramjit Singh Dahiya told MidDay.
Times Now shared a tweet which read: “Actor Aditya Pancholi files for anticipatory bail; hearing tomorrow. The actor is involved in a rape case.”
Responding to the reports, the actor told ANI over a telephonic conversation that these are false charges and he has the evidence to prove the same.
“I am being falsely implicated in this case. I have all the evidence and video in this case. I am ready to cooperate with the Mumbai Police. If they will call me for my statement, then I will cooperate. I am ready for investigation. I knew that a case will be registered against me. I am not going anywhere. The police have not approached me after the FIR was registered”, he was quoted as saying.
