Avon Cycles Limited, Ludhiana organized a meeting of leading industrialists at its premises on 26th June, 2017, for interaction with Mr. Bharat Bhushan Ashu, MLA to solve the problems being faced by the industry.
Leading industrialists namely Sanjeev Pahwa, S.S. Bhogal, Mridulla Jain, S.C. Ralhan, Rajneesh Ahuja, Ravinder Arora, Gurmeet Singh Kular, Sukhdayal Singh, U.K.Narang, Rajeev Jain, Harjeet Singh Sondh, Tejvinder Singh and a number of other industrialists were present.
First of all, Mr.Onkar Singh Pahwa, Chairman, Avon Cycles extended warm welcome to Mr. Bharat Bhushan Ashu, MLA by presenting a bouquet. During discussion, the industrialists pointed out lack of infrastructure in focal point and other industrial areas. The roads are in very pitiable condition and needs immediate attention. Water accumulates on roads during rainy season. G.T. Road and other main roads of the focal point are blocked by trucks & containers by illegal parking which needs immediate attention. Demand of cycle tracks for safe cycling in the city was also raised. The industrialists insisted to have a meeting with Mr. Navtoj Singh Sidhu, Minister, Local Government, Tourism & Culture Affairs, Punjab.
Some industrialists pointed out problem relating to VAT refund. Sufficient funds have been blocked with the government due to non-refund of VAT. Shri Ashu was requested to extend help for the refund of pending VAT cases. Some members also expressed fear and panic in the implementation of GST and raised demand to organize camps to educate the public in this regard.
A number of industrialists talked about law and order problem in the city. Recently, there were thefts in some factories. The members present in the meeting raised demand to increase police patrolling in the area. There is also a long pending demand of the industrialists for exhibition hall in Ludhiana. They requested the MLA to help in this regard. They also offered cooperation and support for the purpose.
While speaking on the occasion, Mr. Bharat Bhushan Ashu, MLA thanked Mr. Onkar Singh Pahwa and other industrialists to invite him for this interaction. He assured the members present in the meeting to take up their demands with the concerned ministries to solve the problems. Meeting of industrialists with concerned ministers would be arranged, if need be. Mr. Ashu also suggested to organize interaction with industrialists every month to watch progress.
