LUDHIANA, March 13 (CNI): An awareness camp on National Nutrition Mission was organized in Jodhewal Basti locality of the city. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched this mission in Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan district on International Women’s Day (March 8).The mission aims to eradicate the problems of under nutrition and low birth weight and stunting in the country.
Child Development and Program Officer (CDPO) Mr. Gurcharan Singh informed the gathering about how to take care during pregnancy and post pregnancy, importance of breastfeeding, iron deficiency and its impacts on children or women, proper vaccination of children, routine intake of nutrient food products and fruits, harmful effects of junk foods and others.
During the awareness camp, a team of Anganwari workers also visited the houses of pregnant women and told them above mentioned valuable points which can help their children in their lives.
