Awareness drive regarding Gender based Violence in education

Special cell for women, Ludhiana in collaboration with Youth Club, KhalsaCollege for Women, Ludhiana celebrated “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is an international campaign to challenge violence against women and girls.” The theme of 16 days activism for 2017 is “Together we can end Gender based violence in education”. Social worker Miss. Purnima Bhardwaj introduced students about the Special Cell for women in the beginning of her session, shared various helpline numbers available for them and basic safety measures. In the session social worker discussed about the gender, violence, types of violence, how violence takes place in education. Social worker helped students in understanding the issues and challenges faced in addressing and ending gender based violence in education and how together we can make a difference.

The principal Mrs Mukti Gill appreciated the efforts made by Special Cell for Women, Ludhiana for organising such awareness programme.
