Bathinda’s Harraipur Village to Get Gaushala, 8.5 Acres of Land Identified

BARNALA 7 AUGUST (AKHILESH BANSAL) The Punjab government has taken initiative of constructing cattle pounds in every district and under this initiative 8.5 acres of land has been identified in village Harraipur. The cattle pound will be constructed soon wherein stray cattle will be housed giving respite to the people. The Chief Parliamentary Secretary Mr Sarup Chand Singla and the Deputy Commissioner Dr Basant Garg today visited the site to see the progress of work going on. SDM Bathinda Mr Damanjit Singh Maan also accompanied them.

The CPS Mr Sarup Chand Singla appreciating the efforts of district administration stated that site for cattle pound has been identified and very soon the construction work will begin.  He added that such cattle pounds were being constructed in each and every district to give people respite from the problem of stray cattle. He said that the land identified at village Harraipur is prime land and appealed people to help government in taking care of the stray animals.

Deputy Commissioner-cum-chairman district animal society Dr Basant Garg stated that the society was taking initiatives to care for the stray cattle as well as construct cattle pounds. The 8.5 acres of kand identified to the cattle pound has earth mounds, which are now being leveled using tractors and trolleys.  Approach road the gaushala has been laid and work on construction would be started very soon. He appealed people to help government in running the noble cause of cattle pound thereby caring for the stray cattle. He also appealed the dairy owners not to abandon their non-productive animals on roads and instead safeguard their interests. Village Harraipur sarpanch Mr Gursewak Singh and sarpanches of neighboring villages were also present.
