BSNL offers 10GB data per day, unlimited calls at Rs 249 but you can’t call during the day
BSNL has come up with a new plan for its broadband internet users that offers about three times more data than previous plans and at a reduced price.
The new broadband plan — Unlimited Broadband at 249 from the state-run telecom company BSNL gets you 10GB data every day at Rs 249 per month. Along with that, the plan offers unlimited calling, but for a specific period during the day.
The company says its new unlimited wireless plan is throttled at 2mbps speeds. While the data limit is set for 10GB of download and usage daily, without any said conditions, the calling part does come with limitations.
Calls to other networks are free, but only after 9 O’clock in the night and not after 7 in the morning. That is more or less night calling and may not be very usable for people planning to get this plan for their office use. Calling is free for the whole day though, on Sundays.
New Broadband connections can be subscribed by visiting nearest BSNL customer service center or by calling toll free number- 1800 345 1500.
For mobile customers, BSNL recently announced a new monthly pack that comes with 56 GB of bundled data, along with “unlimited calls” at Rs 339. Come to think of, this is an offer better than what Airtel, Jio and Vodafone are offering to their consumers. But calling is not actually unlimited but rather limited to 25 minutes daily.
In Q4 2016, the average internet connection speed in India was 5.6Mbps – a 36 percent rise quarter-to-quarter and a stellar 99 percent increase year-on-year. But it is still amongst worst in the world. Though many companies like Airtel and ACT have launched their fiber-optic based connections that reach up to 1Gbps speeds , they are limited mostly to metros.
