LUDHIANA, JUNE 3  (CNI): With an aim to enlarge the facilities, better maintenance and functioning of Community Home For Specially-Abled Persons, the Punjab Government has decided to fill all the vacant posts at home under its roadmap to render all services to them.

The department of social security, women and child development which is the executive agency of the home, has invited the applications to fill many vacant posts including Nursing Assistant, Teacher, Clerk, Helpers, Cook, security staff and other employees.

Revealing the details, District Social Security Officer (DSSO) Inderpreet Kaur told that the home was in need of complete staff for its better functioning and after getting a green signal from the government, the department went ahead for recruiting the staff on all vacant posts.

She said that at present, there are nine beneficiaries living in the community home which operates from the complex of Braille Bhawan, Jamalpur and it has a capacity of 50-beds.

She disclosed that the Punjab Government has set up three community homes for such persons at Ludhiana, Amritsar and Rajpura where the beneficiaries are provided free accommodation, health care and education, counselling.he executive agency of the home,

Further, with the association of an NGO “Sarthak’, a personality development course is also underway for the persons living at the home, she added.

DSSO further revealed that the beneficiaries are being selected after getting go-ahead from Child Welfare Committee and required medical check-ups.

She stated that the complex would also have new playgrounds include Football, Cricket, and Kabbadi, Athletics (Shot put, Discus Throw, Javelin Throw, and Long Jump), Sports Activity room and Gym for all beneficiaries living there.

Kaur told that once the entire recruitment process gets complete, there will be no a shortage of staff in the community home.
