Ludhiana, August 8:
In a bid to provide good quality milk and its products for public and check adulteration under the Punjab government’s Mission Tandrust Punjab, a meeting of senior officials of different departments was held at Verka Milk Plant, here today. During the meeting, discussions were held to improve co-ordination within different departments.
Today’s meeting was attended by Mr BR Madaan, General Manager, Verka, Ludhiana, Dr Manjit Singh, Assistant Civil Surgeon, Health Department, Mr Dilbagh Singh, Deputy Director, Dairy Development Department, Dr Yogesh Goyal, Food Safety Officer, Mr Daljit Singh, President, Progressive Dairy Farmers Association (PDFA) and other progressive farmers along with Verka’s manager production, Manager Milk Procurement and Incharge Quality Control.
Dr Manjit Singh assured that strict action would be taken against those who are involved in selling adulterated milk and its products in the district and urged the residents to provide information against such persons to the department and stated that their identities would be kept secret.
Mr Dilbagh Singh urged all the dairy farmers to assist the department in checking spurious milk and its products so that the Mission Tandrust Punjab can be made successful.
