Ludhiana, May 29 (CNI): Keeping in view the problems being faced by the senior citizens, specially-abled persons and women along with their children visiting district judicial complex, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) on Tuesday launched the service of two e-rickshaws, battery power three-wheelers to ferry them from the gate of complex to courts at free of cost.
District and Sessions Judge Gurbir Singh, who is also DLSA chairman flagged off the e-rickshaws and said that the facility has been started so that people visiting the courts, especially elderly people, specially-abled persons, and women can feel ‘good’ while entering the courts. He said that the e-rickshaws will be available near the gate at 9 am daily.
DLSA Chairman added the facility will also solve the issue of the parking inside the complex. He said that DSLA will bring more such e-rickshaws in the future to facilitate the people in future.
He also informed that in the past, the DLSA and Ludhiana Police in association with Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) had taken an initiative of tying radium belts around the necks of stray cattle.
District and Sessions Judge Gurbir Singh further stated that cattle wandering on roads are one of the major causes of accidents which claim precious lives and sought the help from the media to create awareness and controlling stray cattle menace, 50-percent road mishaps can be reduced.
Apart from this, DLSA has also begun the drinking water facility for the people today.
All additional district and sessions judges, Chief Judicial Magistrates and members of Bar Association were also present.
