In yet another awkward moment in front of cameras, US President Donald Trump was left hanging as he stretched his hand out to greet Poland’s First Lady, who walked right past him to shake hands with his wife Melania instead. As what was perceived by many as a “snub” went viral on social media, Poland’s President Andrzej Duda took to Twitter to clarify that his wife did, in fact, shake hands with Mr Trump “contrary to some surprising reports.”
Mr Trump was in Warsaw, Poland on Thursday with his wife. During an official photocall, Mr Trump first shook hands with Mr Duda. He then turned to Poland’s First Lady Agata Kornhauser-Duda with his right arm still stretched out. That’s when she walked right past him, towards his wife, and shook hands with her, as Mr Trump watched on.
Folks, Poland's first lady did not diss Trump's handshake attempt. She was looking at Melania, shook her hand, then shook Trump's. Stop. pic.twitter.com/ta8DNsv0Th

Ms Kornhauser-Duda then turned around and shook hands with Mr Trump.
The awkward moment, however, did not go unnoticed on Twitter, with many posting GIFs of it, calling it a “snub.” Others pointed out it was more likely that Ms Kornhauser-Duda simply did not see the US President’s hand extended out towards her in greeting.
