People with diabetes should be encouraged and enabled to participate actively in managing and monitoring their condition. Another interactive lecture on Family values and Culture was organized. The resource person for the lecture was Dr. D.P.Sharma, PhD. Human Rights. He elaborated that our family values definition consists of ideas passed down from generation to generation.    Three traditional basic tasks in life have been described as work, play and love.  There are many activities that fall under these categories.  All of them are important and it takes work to balance these tasks.  However, we often get caught up in work and other activities and neglect play and love.   Without a balanced life of incorporating play and having loving relationships, our lives become stressful and unsatisfying.   He ended with a note that “No success in life compensates for failure in the home.”

The next training session was held by Mrs. Usha Chopra (an instructor of Red Cross Society) on the topic First Aid to pay the immediate attention to the sufferer. He stated that all individuals should have a basic understanding of first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills. CPR is a technique involving heart and lungs that is used when breathing stops. This valuable technique should be learned by all caregivers and parents in case of an emergency.A Discussion was made on the topic and volunteers participated in the talk with great interest and presented their views.
