The chairperson, Monika chaudhary discussed the gender parity in India and gave her highness an insight on the recently built gender parity index by Mrs Vinita Bhimbet imm past president FLO , which was released on the COG at the federation house New Delhi in this April by Shri Arun Jaitley.
Ms Sidhu was very forthcoming and gave due attention to all of us individually. Our FLO members Mrs Mridula jain of Shingora made a representation on behalf of the shawl club India and Mrs Amrita interacted on the tourism opportunities with Australia.
To give you a background : Australia recently announced the appointment ms Harinder Sidhu as the country’s next High Commissioner to India. Ms. Sidhu who has an Indian background had migrated to Australia as a child with her family from Singapore and has replaced the outgoing High Commissioner Patrick Suckling. Highly qualified and well known for her oratory skills, she is a epitome of exemplary women empowerment.
