LUDHIANA, JULY 2 (CNI): Health department is committed to providing quality food to the people and decided to start daily sampling drive of food products under Mission Tandrust Punjab for tightening the noose against those involved in food adulteration.
District Health Officer (DHO) Andesh Kang said that till today, the department has collected 135 samples of several products including milk, fruits, ice, packed water, Bakery food and others and have been sent to state food lab. She said that legal action would be taken against the guilty.
She also stated that the department has also destroyed seven quintal artificially ripened fruits and also held awareness seminars to sensitize the vendors against artificially ripening.
DHO also released the schedule of activities which will be carried out till June 5, 2019.
Kang also sought the fulsome support of people to make the drive a huge success in Ludhiana.
