Imran Tahir trundles in, he delivers a spitting leg-spin, it bamboozles the batsman, he gets the wicket and then he takes off. Arms aloft, exulting, running all over the ground, thumping the crest and roaring in absolute delight. It is an absolute event, the Imran Tahir celebration after picking a wicket is a joy in itself as he is chased around by his teammates.

Well, not for MS Dhoni. The skipper has made it absolutely clear that he, along with Shane Watson, will never go after Tahir and wait for him to come back before congratulating him on the wicket.

“It’s great fun to watch him (Tahir) celebrate. We have made it very clear to him that me and Watson are never coming to him because more often that not, when he gets a wicket, he runs to the other side,” Dhoni said at the post-match presentation.

“With me and Watson, it’s quite difficult since we are not 100 percent fit. So, we just say very well done and go back to our positions. The good thing is he finishes the lap quickly and comes back to bowl,” he further added.

Tahir has been brilliant for Chennai this season and he spun a web around Delhi Capitals in the last match. 4 wickets for 12 runs in 3.2 overs handed Delhi a defeat by 80 runs and it also helped CSK reclaim the number 1 spot on the points table.

“It is really going to affect us specially the run rate. The way we chased, it wasn’t expected from the batsmen but it is a good reality check for us. Good that it happened at this stage and everybody would be on their toes in the next game,” Delhi Capitals skipper Shreyas Iyer said at the end of the match.
