Journalism department of PCTE celebrates National Photography Day

To mark National Photography Day, Journalism & Mass Communication department of PCTE organized a one-day on Photography. Mr  Karamveer Sandhu, a renowned photographer was invited for the guest speaker. Mr Sandhu  is a very famous name in the field of photo journalism. Photographer Sandhu is a science graduate whereby  in 1999, to pursue his passion for photography, he joined the field of journalism but never thought that he would choose his hobby as a career.

The workshop was conducted to teach students some important aspects of photography. Lessons on lens art & basic features of photography were taught to the students. It was a great experience for the students to know such important things. The students were given practical assignment as well that were fruitful for the students.

Choki Wangchuk a student of Journalism & Mass Communication 2nd year said, ” The session was very informative and I got to know how light is important to get a perfect shot.” Rajat Thapar, a student Journalism & Mass Communication 1st year said, ” I was never interested in photography but, now after attending this lecture I am very much interested to test my photographic skills.”

” I am deeply honored to deliver this lecture to these future lensmen of the society” said Karamveer Sandhu. He further added,  ” I would like to thank the college authorities for inviting me here. Photography is an ever increasing art & it will develop more in coming years.”

Dr KNS Kang, Director General of the college said, “Since the National Photography Day was approaching, students of department came up with this idea of organising this one day workshop. The guest speaker held this session of one day with utmost sincerity and creativity. I am definitely sure that the students would have learnt a lot from him.”
