fter making a mark in the industry with her acting skills, Katrina Kaif has now has her eyes set to become a producer. The actress, who is currently busy with the promotions of Bharat, has revealed that she is planning to start her production house by the end of the year.
Talking to an entertainment website, the actress said, “Yes, it’s true. I plan to start my production house sometime towards the end of this year.”
Katrina will be joining the list of lead actresses Anushka Sharma and Deepika Padukone who have also ventured into production in the past. Anushka marked her production debut from 2015 film NH 10. She also acted in the film. She then went on to produce and act in 2018 horror film Pari and in Phillauri (2017).
Deepika, on the other hand, turned into a producer with Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak. She is also acting in the film.
Katrina also wishes to join the league as she said, “I really hope to put my name as a producer to one of the projects I’ve been in discussions with. So let’s see.”
Katrina has been praised for her performance ever since the trailer of Bharat has been launched. Netizens are calling her portrayal of Kumud Raina in the film promising.
Salman Khan, lead actor of the film, in fact said that he believes Katrina will bag a national award for her role in Bharat. He said, “Katrina has done a lot of hard work. She has done a brilliant job in the film. She will definitely win National Award for her performance.”
When Katrina was quizzed about Salman’s comment, she said, “I think everyone associated with the film always feels the love and passion for what you do because it has been a long journey. It has been a journey where we all tried to put our heart and soul in to it. And I think Salman has seen every step of the way how hard we worked on this, me and Ali trying to create the character and get this character right for me and for the film.”
“I think the ultimate test is when the film releases and what the audiences’ response to it is. I think for me that is the most important test and after that let’s see,” added Katrina Kaif.
Katrina was last seen opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Zero. Though the film bombed at the box office, Katrina was hailed for her performance in the film.
The actresses latest film Bharat, which has created a lot of buzz, is set to release on Eid, June 5.
