On the directions of Civil Surgeon Dr Parvinder Pal Singh Sidhu, District Epidemiologist Dr Ramesh Kumar said that the teams conducted the drive in the complex of civil surgeon office, CHC Urban, ESI dispensary, Rakh Bagh locality and adjoining areas.

He said that the members of anti-larva teams sprayed on the stagnant water wherever they found as for mosquitoes these sites are potential breeding sites. Kumar disclosed that the desert coolers and other containers were also immediately drained out.

Further, he told that teams also made the people aware not to let the water accumulate in their areas and clear out immediately.

He added that such inspection of the government offices is being carried out on each Friday under ‘Tandarust Punjab’ mission to ensure that vector-borne diseases are checked well in advance.

Dr Ramesh Kumar claimed that the health department is committed for tackling this menace to ensure good health of the residents.
