Ludhiana, September 10:
Under the Ghar Ghar Rozgar Mission of the Punjab government, job fairs are to be organised throughout the state in the month of September. Today, job fairs were organised at Jagraon, Khanna and Samrala, in which more than 2900 unemployed youth participated. More than 100 different companies offered jobs to the youth during these job fairs.
It is pertinent to mention that the district administration had organised a state-level job fair in ITI (Boys) Gill Road, here on Monday. More than 1000 candidates were interviewed by 112 companies in the fair. Today, at Jagraon, 24 companies and 1734 candidates participated, at Khanna 45 companies and 786 candidates, while at Samrala 30 companies and 700 candidates participated.
At Khanna, the job fair was inaugurated by Khanna MLA Mr Gurkirat Singh Kotli and Payal MLA Mr Lakhbir Singh Lakha, at Samrala by MLA Mr Amrik Singh Dhillon, whereas at Jagraon, the job fair was inaugurated by former minister Mr Malkit Singh Dakha.
While speaking on the occasion, MLA’s Mr Gurkirat Singh Kotli and Mr Lakhbir Singh Lakha informed that the Capt Amarinder Singh led Punjab government is committed for providing jobs to all unemployed youth of the state. They said that is why, job fairs are being organised in different parts of the state. They urged the youth to attend these job fairs in large numbers as several reputable companies are attending them for providing jobs.
At job fairs in Samrala and Jagraon, MLA Mr Amrik Singh Dhillon and former minister Mr Malkit Singh Dakha, respectively, stated that the youth should enrol themselves in skill development courses, which are in high demand. They said that the Capt Amarinder Singh led Punjab government had promised in their election manifesto that jobs would be provided to every household.
They further said that in this fifth-edition of job fairs, 2.10 lakh jobs will be provided and loans will be offered to more than 1 lakh youths for starting their ventures. They also stated that this time, job fairs are being organised at 82 different places in the state and the successful candidates of these job fairs would be issued appointment letters by Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh at Ropar on October 5, 2019. They said that the Punjab government would also be giving 1 lakh government jobs for the youth and till date, more than 8 lakh jobs have already been provided.
ADC (Jagraon) Mrs Neeru Katyal Gupta and ADC (Khanna) Mr Jaspal Singh Gill informed that another job fair would be organised at the Government Institute of Textile Chemistry and Knitting Technology, Rishi Nagar, Ludhiana on September 11, 2019. Similarly, the Punjab government would be organising a Mega Job Fair at Ajitgarh (Mohali) on September 18, where the selected candidates would get a minimum salary package of Rs 3 lakh.
They stated that the main aim of organising these job fairs is to provide maximum employment to the unemployed youth of district Ludhiana. They appealed to all unemployed youth to come forward and attend these job fairs in large numbers so that “Ghar Ghar Rozgar Mission” can be made successful.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included SDM Khanna Mr Sandeep Singh, SDM Payal Mrs Swati Tiwana, SDM Jagraon Mr Baljinder Singh Dhillon, SDM Samrala Mrs Geetika Singh, besides several others.
