CHANDIGARH: Amid the political tussle with Navjot Sidhu, Punjab CM Capt Amarinder Singh is today hosting a birthday party for his Pakistani friend Aroosa Alam in famous hitel Hayat in Chandigarh. The senior police and civil officers of Punjab and select cabinet colleagues of Capt Amarinder Singh have been invited for the party.
According to a report published in Punjabi Tribune, published from Chandigarh, Aroosa Alam has reached Chandigarh for her birthday bash. She had gone to Pakistan due to Lok Sabha elections and busy schedule of CM. Capt Amarinder Singh has extended invitation to his close friends in politics for the party.
The birthday of Aroosa Alam has become an important event for Punjab CM and often occupy newspaper headlines. In 2017 after formation of Congress government, Capt Amarinder Singh had organised birthday party for Aroosa at Mashobra near Shimla and its photographs had gone viral on social media. In 2018 Capt Amarinder Singh had celebrated her birthday in Manali.
According to newspaper, Aroosa is living at the official residence of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh since the formation of his government in 2017. She is also reportedly influencing government decisions and many senior officers approach her to reach out to Chief Minister. After promotion of Punjab DGP Dinkar Gupta, a photoograph showing Dikar and his IAS wife sitting with Aroosa Alam had also gone viral.
Aroosa Alam a Pakistani citizen is on special long term visa given by BJP government on the recommendtions of Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal. Aroosa was working as defence correspondent for a Paksitani newspaper.
Interestingly, Chief Minister had never bothered about public criticism over his relationship rather kept it open an open affair. Aroosa is also seen in photographs with Raninder Singh son of Capt Amarinder singh
