Ludhiana, June 6 (CNI): The Punjab government’s strong focus on providing employment to the youths under its ambitious program ‘Ghar-Ghar Rozgar’ by enhancing their technical abilities, continues to show encouraging results as all students of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) operator course in local Multi Skill Development Centres (MSDC) have been recruited by leading industrial houses of the city.
As many as 20 youths who had undergone training for CNC trade in MSDC, Gill road, have been selected by industrial firms.
18 of them have been recruited by Sajjan Castings Limited and two by Highway Industries. The remaining one youth is determined to become entrepreneur and MSDC is helping him in starting his own venture.
In March this year too, out of 20 trainees of Fitter Mechanical Assembly course in the center, 16 were appointed by well-known industrialist houses including Bajaj Sons Limited Focal Point, JP Cycles, and Bhagwan Sons and remaining four trainees had set up their own units.
Divulging the details, MSDC state head Pushkar Mishra informed that more than 60 percent youths who were trained in various courses at the centre which is functioning since March 2017, had already got employment and receiving good salaries.
Mishra said that today’s those who have been selected will get a maximum monthly salary of Rs 14000. He said that MSDC is determined to ensure employment to its students.
MSDC Instructor Jatinder Pal Singh disclosed that six short-term courses are being offered at the free of cost here along with uniform, training, the practical. The interested candidates should have been passed 10th and 12th, he added.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Ghar-Ghar program has already provided jobs to 1, 61,522 youths by organizing job fairs throughout the state in its first year.
