LUDHIANA, April 6 (CNI): The department of social security, women and child development held a seminar on National Nutrition Mission in Salem Tabri locality of the city on Friday in which Anganwari supervisors and workers of three blocks took part.
Child Development and Program Officer (CDPO) Gurcharan Singh and Supervisor Anju Singla who was the master trainer of the seminar, informed them the Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched this mission in Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan district on International Women’s Day (March 8).
They further disclosed that the mission aimed to eradicate the problems of undernutrition and low birth weight and stunting in the country and it has been started at Sri Muktsar Sahib, Ludhiana, Faridkot and Mansa in Punjab.
They told the gathering about care during pregnancy and post pregnancy, the importance of breastfeeding, Real-Time Monitoring through ICDS-CAS Mobile APP, Proper Immunization and Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojna (PMMVY), a maternity benefit scheme.
