In continuation with the 550th year Parkash Purab celebrations of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, district-level Shabad Gayan and Gurbani competitions were organised in 533 government schools of district Ludhiana. The Punjab government has already decided to hold year round functions to mark the 550th birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the first Sikh Guru and the founder of the faith.
While providing information, Deputy DEO (Secondary) Mr Ashish Kumar informed that such competitions prove beneficial for educating students as well as increase their interest in subjects such as history and religion. He informed that Shabad Gayan and Gurbani competitions were organised in 533 government schools of the district.
He further informed that the students participated in these competitions with enthusiasm and the winners were awarded with certificates. He said that the school teachers also motivated the students to participate in such competitions as they bring positivity into the lives of the students.
