Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management celebrated Lohri with full gaiety and fervour at its campus on 12th Jan, 2018. The mood on the campus was upbeat and the students were totally absorbed in the festive spirit of Lohri. The celebration began with lighting the bonfire by Brig. H.S. Bhandal, Director Education, and Dr. R.L. Behl, Principal. Thereafter, they appraised the students of the importance of festival of Lohri, which ushers in the cheerful spring season bidding adieu to the chilly winter. It was then followed by a cultural programme in which students performed bhangra, giddha, and other folk items, which were enjoyed by the audience. The gathering also sang the songs enriched with rich cultural folklore of Punjab. Thereafter, all the staff members and students worshipped bonfire. Fritters, groundnuts, popcorns and sweets were also distributed among the students and staff. At last, all the students shook their legs with the DJ on the best peppy punjabi numbers.
