Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management, Ludhiana has started Meditation Sessions in the College for the students, faculty members and staff.The sessions was conducted under the guidance of Prof. Meenu Goyal and Prof. Jai Parkash, NSS Programme Officers and are organized by NSS VolunteersAbheeti, Himanshu Garg, Ishpreet, Jashan, Shagun, Kirat, Nitish, Aayushi. The college was very fortunate to be graced by the presence of Sh. Anil Bharti and Smt. Leena Bharti from Swami Vivekanand Meditation Pyramid, Model Town, Ludhiana.
In the orientation session, a video Spiritual Reality was shown to the students. Through this video the students were explained about the science and importance of meditation. The concepts related to spiritual, mental and physical health were explained. Prof Jai Parkash told the Meditation sessions were organised for the students of B.Com and BBA of all semesters of the college by the SACCM NSS Unit.
Prof Meenu Goyal said the students were encouraged to be part of such sessions. The students were made aware about the benefits of meditation and were asked to break the age old perception that it takes a long time to become a good and focused meditator. In fact students were told to meditate for 40 days continuously and experience the healing power of meditation. Also Smt. Leena Bharti conducted a 20 minute meditation session and motivated the students to wake up their spiritual selves.
Director Education Brigadier H S Bhandal, Dr. Sushil Kumar and Principal, Dr R.L. Behl, motivated the students by meditating along with them. Dr Behl said in all it has been a great experience and the college is planning to hold such sessions frequently and make it a regular feature of college. Dr Sushil Kumar said college aims at developing holistic personality of students. So the College will continue in future also with Meditation sessions with complete dedication.
