Department of Political Science Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana organized a three days training workshop from 06th June to 08th June, 2017 on social audit of MGNREGA, under the guidance of Dr. H.L Behl, Director Social Audit Unit. Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Mukti Gill welcomed the team at the inaugural session. S. Inderjit Singh Dhaliwal, Mr. Narinder Singh Thakur, Mr. Karamjit Singh, and Mr. Akashjot Singh were the resource persons from the office of the Joint Development Commissioner.
The team who were Social Audit Experts gave training to the students on how to conduct social audit of MGNREGA scheme. The purpose of this training was to aware students about the scheme and to reduce corruption through Social Audit.
60 students from the college and 40 members of Nehru Yuva Kendra (NGO) participated in the workshop. On the concluding day, Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Mukti Gill thanked the team for connecting the youth with participatory democratic system.
