Ludhiana, July 11 (000)-Deputy Commissioner Mr Pardeep Kumar Agrawal today informed that under the Mission Tandrust Punjab and to commemorate 550th Parkash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, a total of 5,17,550 tree saplings (550 for each gram panchayat) are being planted in Ludhiana district. For the success of this project, a comprehensive plan has been formulated by the District Administration. Work on planting the saplings and achieving this target is going on full swing. As many as 2, 36, 500 plants in 430 villages in the district have been planted so far. Work on readying the place where tree saplings to be planted have also been completed in 846 villages.

A district-level committee in this regard has been formed to ensure that the land for planting these tree saplings are identified and the saplings are planted as well as maintained properly. This committee is working under the direct supervision of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) and Divisional Forest Officer.

Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana informed that the District level committee comprises of all Sub Divisional Magistrates, AETC Ludhiana-2, Land Acquisition Collector Improvement Trust Ludhiana, Joint Commissioner Municipal Corporation Ludhiana, Estate Officer GLADA, Deputy Director Local Government, District Public Relations Officer, District Information Officer, all Block Development and Panchayat Officers and block level Forest Officers. Besides, a nodal officer has also been appointed for all 941 gram panchayats of Ludhiana district.

Mr Agrawal informed that the entire process has to be carried out before the coming Parkash Purab of  Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and that is why a time frame for each work was fixed that being followed strictly by the officers. He stated that the plantation of tree saplings would be carried till September 30, 2019. The efforts for proper maintenance of tree saplings to start from ground level from September 30, 2019, onwards.

Deputy Commissioner Mr Pardeep Kumar has appealed to the residents of Ludhiana district to assist the district administration for the success of this project, which is very beneficial for all of us as it would help in saving our environment. 

Divisional Forest Officer Mr Charanjeet Singh informed that the forest department has announced to declare Green Panchayats those Panchayats who will get survived all 550 saplings. The detailed survey would be carried out after six months of planting saplings.

NATIONAL LOK ADALAT IN LUDHIANA ON JULY 13: DLSA SECRETARY

The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Ludhiana secretary-cum-CJM Mr Ashish Abrol today informed that on the directions of National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi, the next National Lok Adalat would be organised in the district on July 13, 2019. He stated that in this Lok Adalat, cases related to banks and insurance companies etc.

Mr Ashish Abrol stated that the National Lok Adalat would be organised in District Courts Ludhiana, along with civil courts in Jagraon, Khanna, Payal and Samrala. He informed that along with cases pending in courts, pre-litigative cases would also be put up in this National Lok Adalat.

He informed that cases such as NI Act Cases u/s 138, Money Recovery Cases, Labour Disputes Cases, Electricity and Water Bills and Other Miscellaneous Civil Cases can be put up in pre-litigative category, while Criminal Compoundable Offences, NI Act u/s 138, Money Recovery Cases, MACT Cases, Labour Disputes cases, Electricity and Water Bills, Matrimonial Disputes, Land Acquisition Cases, Service Matter Cases, Revenue Cases (Pending in District Courts) and other Civil Cases (Rent, Easementary Rights, Injuction Suits, Specific Performance suits) etc would be put up from pending cases category.

He further stated that a Lok Adalat is the best way to achieve cheap and quicker resolution of disputes. If the matter is settled during the Lok Adalat, then the court fee already paid by a party at the time of filing of a case is refunded. The disputes resolved through Lok Adalat are on the basis of mutually acceptable terms. A decision which is mutually acceptable to both the parties not only brings an end to the long-standing dispute but also puts an end to litigation forever, as there is no appeal against the decision/award made by a Lok Adalat.

Mr Ashish Abrol stated that if any person wants his pending case to be put up in National Lok Adalat, he/she can submit an application in the respective court or in the office of Secretary, DLSA, Ludhiana.

Mr Abrol informed that if any under trial wants to have a lawyer under free legal aid, then they can contact the DLSA, which would provide the lawyer completely free of cost.
