Joint Replacement and Physiotherapy Unit was inaugurated at Akyai Hospital, Ludhiana. MLA Bharat Bhushan Ashu and Prabhakar attended the programme. Separate rounds of Interaction were held and a lot of queries regarding Joint replacement and Physiotherapy were resolved. The whole session was followed by question-answer round on various scenarios of daily life.
Programme was held under the supervision of Dr. A. S. Passi (Fellowship in Joint Replacement Surgeries from Medanta, Gurgoan) Chief Surgeon, Joint Replacement Unit, Aykai Hospital. Dr.Passi said we are also organising free ortho check-up camp till 15th September. He explained how we can save our joints from arthritis, and keep them healthy and painfree.
Not all patients having joints pain need joint replacement. There is medical treatment and physiotherapy program which can change the course of disease. Small / Minor surgeries (osteotomies) can be done which will help avoid / delay joint replacement in future.
Dr. A. S. Passi said authenticity, honesty, integrity, discipline and human touch are the foundation stones of our joint replacement unit and the hospital team is dedicated to do best for each patient. On the occasion, previous operated patients were also present who were well satisfied from the services provided to them.
