A spirit of solidarity and camaraderie enveloped BCM Arya on 21 January 2023 as the school hosted its Annual Sports Achievement Awards Ceremony – a momentous event   wherein the sporting excellence of about 150 State and National level players was recognized with trophies, medals and certificates of appreciation. Ms. Aparna M B (IAS), Assistant Commissioner (under training), Ludhiana graced the magnificent sports extravaganza as Chief Guest with other eminent dignitaries and esteemed members of school management committee. Dr. Paramjit Kaur, Director of the school welcomed venerated guests with planters, symbolic of our enduring bond with Mother Nature. The function started with lamp lighting followed by a mellifluous rendering of welcome song ‘Swaagtam’ which added zing and charm.

Mrs. Anuja Kaushal, Principal  presented the Annual Sports Report of the school and reiterated her commitment to take the school to unprecedented heights in sports as in other academic and co-academic activities. In her address she expressed her great joy and pride over the exponentially rising sports graph of the school. Commending the tireless and co-ordinate efforts of players, physical education department teachers and coaches, she enlisted the whole gamut of facilities and incentives that the school is so liberally providing to boost the performance of the players.

The most intriguing moment embellishing the event was when star players who made a mark in national and state games were conferred with certificates, medals and prizes. The excitement mounted to a fever pitch among the students and spectators when seven of our Hula Hoopers who made their way to Invisible International Book of Records were recognized.

‘Natya Yoga a new fitness preoccupation that blends dance, yoga and music depicted that being healthy and fit is not a fad or a trend, but a lifestyle. ‘Unstoppable’ a choreography depicting ‘Life need not have limits’ turned out a testament to the power of positive mental attitude and regaled the spectators and stirred their emotions. Young BCM Aryans rocked the stage with thunderous performance in ‘The flavor of Punjab – Bhangra’.

The Chief Guest congratulated the school for providing a wholesome environment where sports and academic go hand in hand. She appreciated the efforts of the school in making the children free from contemporary leisure and promoting sports. She urged the students to play sports in this present techno-savvy environment where we have become slaves to the electronic gadgets making ourselves easy victims to various diseases.

The school auditorium rimmed with flags and balloons reverberating with the sound of cheers made everyone’s day which thus ended with a cheerful note and rendition of the National Anthem. Sh. Suresh Munjal, President of the school proposed a vote of thanks.

On the whole, this recognition not only encouraged students’ interest in sports but also laid the foundation of a healthy and sound society.
