Following this, the war of world between the two parties — TMC and the BJP — has intensified with a number of allegations and counter allegations.

The unrest in the state had also forced the Election Commission to cut short the campaign time in Bengal by a day. On the last day of campaign, West Bengal will witness a faceoff between Mamata Banerjee and Prime Minister Naredra Modi, who is scheduled to address two rallies in the state.
