The matter of keeping two voters card in Delhi has now reached the court. Delhi BJP spokesperson Harish Khurana accused Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal of having two voter ID cards and filed a case in Delhi district court.

BJP said in court that Sunita Kejriwal has two voter identification cards, one belonging to the Sahibabad (Ghaziabad constituency) and the second one listed under Civil Lines (Chandni Chowk Lok Sabha constituency).

Khurana, who has approached the district court, accused Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal of being a “habitual offender”.

Khurana said Arvind Kejriwal should first look into this matter before accusing the BJP’s candidate from East Delhi, Gautam Gambhir.

Atishi Marlena, Aam Aadmi Party’s candidate from East Delhi, said last Friday that the party has filed a case against BJP candidate Gautam Gambhir for having more than one voter ID card. She, too, had filed a case in the Delhi district court.

She has filed a complaint in the court under Section 155 (2) and has sought a police investigation into the matter.

The AAP candidate said having two voter cards is a punishable offence with up to one-year prison time. “I filed a criminal complaint against Mr. Gambhir at a Tis Hazari Court on Thursday,” she said and urged the court to direct police to register an FIR against the cricketer-turned-politician.

After Atishi filed the complaint, Harish Khurana had asked Arvind Kejriwal to explain why his wife Sunita Kejriwal had more than one voter ID. He even asked the AAP chief to first come clean before pointing a finger at others.
