Today, the Three-Month Manufacturing Excellence Cluster Programme was launched by the Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings with lighting the lamp. 10 Manufacturing units from the Engineering sector will join this Cluster.
S. Upkar Singh Ahuja, President highlighted that to achieve the next level of excellence in the Industries, CICU has started Cluster proposes to re-look into the established work practices, and new concepts such as Advance 5S, 6M Concept, Integrated Material Handling & Control, Integrated QA and QC, De-Skilling, LCA, Integrated Flow Manufacturing, and 14 Steps of Lean Manufacturing. These work practices would be introduced and implemented in the participating units.
Sh. Pankaj Sharma, General Secretary, and Sh. J.S Bhogal, Organizing Secretary jointly mentioned that CICU is regularly organizing various events and training sessions for the benefit of the Industry. With this Cluster program industry will defiantly gain Employee Satisfaction, Customer Satisfaction, Single piece flow layout, Low-Cost Automation, Improvement in Value added per employee, etc.
The Program will be conducted by Sh. Ratan Krishna Pal, has vast experience of more than 35 years in Greenfield Projects, Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, supplier and dealer up-gradation, and Operational Excellence including TPM implementation in the areas of Assembly, Painting, Welding, and Press Shops. Ratan has proven expertise in TPM, Lean manufacturing, kaizen, and 5S and has been instrumental in helping many companies improve quality and increase levels of productivity and profitability using the Lean Production System. He was one of the most important members of implementing the Greenfield Projects of Maruti-Suzuki, General Motor India, and Hyundai Motor India, Lean manufacturing concepts started by Toyota in Japan.
The inauguration program was attended by Mr. S.B Singh, Joint Secretary, Sh. Honey Sethi, Legal Secretary, Sh. Gautam Malhotra, Vice President, Sh. Sarvjit Singh, Vice President, Sh. Sanjay Dhiman, Vice President, Sh. Kishore Ladia and another prominent member of Chamber.
