Encounter specialist Pradeep Sharma who is part of the Thane Anti Extortion Cell, picked up the global terrorist’s brother from his Nagpada home
Global terrorist Dawood Ibrahim’s brother Iqbal Kaskar was picked up by encounter specialist Pradeep Sharma on Monday for his alleged involvement in an extortion case being probed by Thane Police.
According to the police sources, it is alleged that Iqbal was trying to extort a builder and after the builder approached the police, Iqbal was picked up from his Nagpada den in Mumbai Central on Monday evening.
Sharma, who had gunned down over 100 criminals was dismissed by the then police commissioner Hasan Gafoor in 2009, after he found that Sharma had alleged links with the underworld. Sharma had challenged the order in the Maharashtra Administrative Tribunal and the decision came in his favour.
Later Sharma was arrested in the fake encounter of suspected Chhota Rajan gang member Lakhan Bhaiya and was later discharged from the case.
In August this year, Sharma was reinstated in the police force and was transferred to Thane Police’s Anti-Extortion Cell
