The Delhi police have transferred a cop after a photo of him seeking ‘blessings’ by a self-styled god woman went viral on social media.
In the photo, Indrapal, the Station House Officer of a police station in Janakpuri, can be seen with a saffron-robed self-styled god woman named Namita Acharya.
Acharya is seen standing behind the officer with her palms over his head. It appears that the photo has been shot inside the SHO’s office.
The photo was soon picked up over social media. Netizens strongly condemned the officer’s action, stating that it was a dishonor to the police uniform.
The officer has since been transferred to police lines.
A similar incident had taken place last year. Vivek Vihar SHO was suspended after his photo vacating his chair for ‘god woman’ Radhe Ma at his police station went viral.
