Paul Farbrace, the assistant coach to English team, isn’t happy with England’s performance.

He asked the English batters to take a cue from Virat Kohli’s knocks. The Delhi-born batsman has 440 runs thus far in the series. He missed out on his 23rd Test century in the first innings but accomplished the same in the second innings. The stupendous knocks also guided the visiting team to a position of command. In the meantime, Farbrace also hailed the 29-year-old as a flexible batsman.

“I’m a big believer in players learning from players, and I think ours will be watching the way Kohli lets the ball come, and almost takes third and fourth slip out of the game. You’re looking for the best players to learn from the best players, and try to adapt their game to suit – and I think there’s no better exponent of that at the moment than him,” he added. The assistant coach also urged the English batsmen to show some guts and put forth their best performance with the willow in their run chase.

Apart from winning the toss, England have had very few aspects go in their favour. Joe Root’s men conceded a mammoth lead of  169 runs after India put up 329 runs on the board. Their bowlers also couldn’t make the same impact in India’s second innings as they did in the first two Tests.
