LUDHIANA, APRIL 15 (CNI): Exhorting the countrymen to maintain integrity and unity in the country, Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Rana KP Singh said that there is a need for a collective fight against anti-national forces in the country.

Speaker Rana KP Singh, who was here on Sunday to inaugurate a statue of Maharana Pratap in a local park near Dholewal Chowk, said that some inimical forces to the country’s peace are trying to disturb the country and called that it is duty of every Indian to resolve to face these divisive forces boldly for defeating them.

He said that those who do not forget their martyrs and remember their martyrdom are true countrymen.

Speaker claimed that Punjab Government is consistently taking steps for the welfare of the Rajput community. He said that a chair in the name of Maharana Partap has been set up in Punjabi University and a statue has also been installed in Roopnagar.

He announced a grant of Rs 2 lakh to Maharana Pratap Rajput Sabha from his own discretionary funds.

Meanwhile, MLA Surinder Dabar explained the gathering about the Punjab Government’s steps taken for the welfare of the state and government led by Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh would bring back the prosperity and development in Punjab soon.

On the occasion, senior Congress leaders Pawan Dewan, Dimple Rana, Councillor Iqbal Singh also addressed the gathering. Other Congress leaders KK Bawa, Anand Attri, Sant Singh Rana and thousands from Rajput Community were also present.
