Still buzzing with the aftermath of Sacred Games Finale? You’re not alone. The highly- popular show, which was also the first Netflix Original for India, is coming back with a second season to answer all our burning questions. The sequel will show Sartaj Singh (Saif Ali Khan) struggling to save his city, and gangster Ganesh Gaitonde (a phenomenal Nawazzudin Siddiqui) trying to save his top- mafia position.
Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap, the show had gained immense popularity and proved its worth for Netflix’s first venture in Indian productions. Widely hailed for its stunning writing (lead writer Varun Grover) and fearless direction, the series gave the internet some great meme- material for months to follow. The forthcoming season will also have Neeraj Ghaywan (previously directed Masaan) taking over the Sartaj Singh storyline.
Erik Barmack, Vice President, International Originals at Netflix, said, “We’ve been thrilled by the response to Sacred Games from fans worldwide, and especially in India, to this high-quality production. It’s incredibly exciting for us to take the story of Sacred Games forward and open a new chapter in the series with its second season.”
The new season will feature several new characters as well. A particular highlight will be on Pankaj Tripathi’s role as Ganesh Gaitonde’s third father in the story.
