Green Land Convent School, Dugri, Ludhiana, unveiled another feat of glory by organising its ‘13th Annual
Prize Distribution-2022 & Cultural Eve – SANSKAR- हमारी धरोहर ’ amidst great zest, enthusiasm and euphoria in
the school premises. The evening was reserved for a gala presentation. The celebrations were befitting the
occasion for the spontaneous outburst in a wide range of creativity. Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bassi (Gogi) and S.
Kulwant Singh Sidhu (MLA) graced the occasion as the Chief Guests of this prestigious ceremony along with
other guests Dr. N.K Dhand, Dr. Mrs Ashok Dhand and Dr. Savita Uppal. The celebration, as scheduled,
started in the evening with the warm floral welcome of the Chief Guests by the Chairman Chain of Green Land
Schools – Dr. Rajesh Rudhra, President of the Trust Dr. Shabad Rudhra, General Secretary of the Trust Mrs.
Usha Rudhra, Director Green Land Schools, Dr. Vijayata Rudhra , the Principal of the host school Ms. Geetika
Sharma and the other dignitaries gracing the occasion were Principals of all Green Land Schools, Mrs.
Baldeep Pandher, Mrs. Vinita Sanan, Dr. Jyoti Pujara, Mrs. Ritu and eminent members of the School
Management Committee. The Chief Guests and all the dignitaries were cordial welcome by NCC Cadets and
school band.
The program commenced with traditional lighting of sacred lamp invoking the spiritual blessing. The School
Orchestra and Choir regaled the audience with beautifully curated music with soulful rendition of prayer and
classical songs.
The function encompassed a string of myriad thematic performances like: Stunning dance performance by
little angels on 'Luk chup Na Jao ji' based on ‘Rajasthani Folk Dance’, the musical dance choreography on ‘Shri
Hari Vishnu Stuti ‘charting the life of Lord Vishnu and in their various avatars, Sufi dance, Govinda dance –
'Tribute to Govinda ' power-packed performance of senior Girls Punjabi dance,play on Drug Abuse which
sarcastically highlighted the ill-effects of drug addiction and its impact on the youth and the talented Green
Knights captivated everyone with their beautiful traditional attire, vibrant music and highly coordinated
movements of senior boys set the tone for Punjabi Folk Bhangra. The energetic performance of the students
compelled everyone to tap their feet to the beats of dhol.
The Chief Guest Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bassi (MLA) praised the ebullient performances put on by the dedicated
Green Knights and encouraged them to adopt true values and grow into priceless assets for the country and
our second Chief Guest S. Kulwant Singh Sidhu (MLA) remarked that the students are the new face of a
glorious future and represent the hopes and desires of the nation.
The Chairman-Cum-Director of the Chain of Green Land Schools Dr. Rajesh Rudhra in his message emphasized
that it is the duty of School and Parents together to instill values in children. He quoted Dr. Abdul Kalam that
when mothers and teachers will awake only then society will become a safe heaven for everyone.
Dr. Shabad Rudhra, Hon'ble President of the Trust emphasized on the abuse of drug addiction. He requested
parents to be alert and save their children from the addiction of drugs.
The Director of Green Land Schools Dr. Vijayata Rudhra congratulated the achievers and encouraged them to
perform even better in future. She further stated that the purpose of education is to prepare students for
challenges of life and Greenland caters to the needs of the students.
School Principal, Ms. Geetika Sharma highlighted the accomplishments of the students in the fields of
academics, sports and co-curricular activities in her Annual Report. It was followed by the Prize Distribution
Ceremony to felicitate the Achievers both of academics and sports and they were given away the prizes by the
Chief Guests.
The ceremony ended with the National Anthem and vote of thanks to the honourable Chief Guests.
