7 Days NSS CAMP CONCLUDED ON AN OPTIMISTIC NOTE TO BREATHE FRESH AIR AND DRINK CLEAN WATER

7 Days NSS camp began on 23rd Dec, 2017. with the reg. of 134 students on the theme Swatchh Bharat. Principal Dr. Mrs. Mukti Gill the Chief Co-Ordinator inaugrated the camp. Invoking the blessings from almighty God ‘Deh Shiva Var Mohe’ the prayer was recited. The Programme officer Ms. Harminder Kaur acquainted the students with aims and objectives along with the information regarding youth leadership camp and pre-Rd camp.

In the evening session, Dr. O.P Chaudhary H.O.D Soil deptt. PAU enlightened the students regarding the harmful effects of over utilisation of fertilizers.

He acquainted the students with four basic R Principles ie Right time, Right source, Right quantity and Right method.

Second day of camp began with the Yoga and meditation Mr. Vireklone sports coach and Yoga therapist explained the meaning of chakrs and their effect on human body. He performed different asanas and provided information about the scientfic meaning of every asanas.

In the evening Ms. Jyotsana state awardee NSS aluminus informed the students about different NSS activities being held at various levels. Pre-Rd prade camp college level selection was also held in the evening. Students drilled with full energy and enthusiasm and later they picked up all the litter from the campus and raised slogans on Swatchhta Abhiyaan.

On the Third day of camp Mr. Jaspal Singh SDO pollution control board of Punjab highlighted the burnning issues of stubble burining. It’s causes and hazardous effects along with the penalities set by the government.

In the evening session chart making competition was held in open air theatre on theme ‘swatchh bharat’.

The fourht day began with the lecturer by madam Paramjit kaur, Assistant professor acromatic plants deptt. PAU she talked about imp medicinal plants acromatic plants and spice crops. She presented a detailed slide show about uasge and benefits of these herbs and plants.

On fifth day a visit to village seechewal and Sultanpur Lodi near Nakodar was organised. Students met Sant Balbir singh sechewal an eminent environmentalist a spiritual guru who is known as the man who restored dead polluted river Kalli Bein.

On sixth day Mrs, Pooja moral activist and a learned scholar gave her talk on genetics cleansing. She explained the ways for purification of body and mind.

In the evening session students prepared for the veledictory function.

On the concluding day a colorful cultural show was presented with great fervour and enthusiasm. Rajasthani folk dance, Punjabi folk dance Bhangra and other western dance performance were main hit items.

Speaking on the ocassion madam Principal Dr. (Mrs.), Mukti Gill exorted the students to come forward and serve the society with the spirit of selflessness.
