All Ladies League, Ludhiana chapter, under the leadership of chairperson Diksha Anand, came up with the novel idea of Aqua Yoga for beating the summer heat along with the Health Awareness talk in which more than 75 women participated.
The session took place at the swimming pool of Nirvana Club.
The evening started with the introduction by Meera Nagpal of ALL ie All Ladies League, an International organisation which has free membership for women, and which aims at promoting the interests and well-being among women besides connecting them.

The session started with a short Health Awareness talk by Dr Preeti Arora.
Dr Preeti Arora, Ayurveda doctor of Sampoorna Kayakalp Clinic, spoke about the Ayurveda Secrets of Wellness to keep healthy in summer heat.

Dr Preeti told about the concept of five elements (ether, air, fire, water and earth) that has combined in different proportions to make all nature and human body systems (called Vata, Pitta and Kapha in ayurveda) Every person has a unique combination of elements called PRAKRITI (constitution).
If you know your constitution, you can choose your food, lifestyle and even relationship for optimum health, balance and happiness.

Dr Preeti mentioned that summer have predominance of fire element (called Pitta in ayurveda). Ayurveda recommends coolant and nourishing diet like fruits, salad, light & freshly cooked meals, and home made kheer, desserts and sharbat.
Dr Preeti recommended to cut down on chilles, spices, alcohol and outside eating as it imbalances the elements and later cause diseases, like acidity, skin problems and infections/ inflammations.

In lifestyle changes, Dr Preeti said that light exercise like yoga and aqua yoga, swimming and meditation are recommended so that you can enjoy being healthy and cool from inside during summer heat.

The talk was followed by Aqua Yoga session which was taken up by Rupashi Wadhawan of Adora women wellness retreats organises wellness trips and health events specially for women.She is trained in Aqua yoga therapy. The theme of the event is “Aqua yoga for beginners” focussing for the mobility and strength of joints and the body mind balance. It’s anAyurveda and Yoga fusion event.

The soulful music on which aqua yoga was done added to the positive vibe of the session.
After the session organic farm fresh fruits and salads prepared by Jyoti Gunjan were served to keep the healthy vibe on.

Women enjoyed the activity to the utmost.

The program was managed by the core members Dr Preeti Arora, Rupashi Wadhawan, Vasudha Gupta, Charu Gupta, Shivani Jain and Dr Meera Nagpal under the able leadership of Diksha Anand, the Chairperson, and Sheetal Khosla, the Vice Chairperson.
