A clean India could be the best tribute that we could pay to the father of nation Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched Swatch Bharat Mission on 2nd October 2014 throughout length and breadth of the country as a national movement with the aim to achieve the vision of clean India.

Partnering cleanliness campaign of India, NCC cadets of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, joined hands for the cleanliness drive organized on 2nd October 2017 in the college campus. The campaign was organized under the stewardship of College Principal, College Associate NCC Officer and staff of 3 Punjab Girls Bn. NCC Ludhiana. The cadets pledged to keep their surroundings clean and green. They promised that they would fulfill Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of clean and hygienic India.

College Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Mukti Gill appreciated the efforts put in by the NCC cadets. She added that these young minds must be trained to take part in such campaigns, so that they themselves take the responsibility of keeping the environment clean. The talent, energy and creativity of cadets must be channelized to bring a positive change in the society. Such events help in acquainting the young cadets with their social responsibilities, which are missing in today’s generation. She motivated the cadets to abide by their pledge and convince their friends and families as well for the same.
