ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT CENTRE INAUGURATED IN CITY

Dr Arun Kumar Panda, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, today inaugurated an Enterprise Development Centre (EDC) in the campus of MSME Development Institute in Partap Chowk, here. This EDC would provide support and assistance to the existing and prospective MSME’s of Ludhiana.

Mr Panda is visiting different parts of the state and during his visit to Ludhiana today, he visited the Research and Development Centre and later in the evening, he held a meeting with the representatives of different industrial organisations.

While addressing the industrialists, he said that the Union Ministry of MSME is committed for the welfare of all MSME’s across the country. He said that they have held a meeting with the officials of Reserve Bank of India as well as all banks to ensure that the MSME’s get loans easily. He said that another such meeting is scheduled for August 20, 2018 in New Delhi.

He said that the corpus fund for providing loan to MSME’s has also been increased from Rs 2500 crore to Rs 8000 crore in the last one and half years so that the MSME’s get easy loan from banks.

Mr Panda urged the industrialists to form clusters as the Union Ministry of MSME is supporting the clusters in a big way. He said that more priority would be given to those clusters which has higher number as well as benefits a large number of people.

The meeting was also attended by Mr DPS Kharbanda, Director, Industries and Commerce, Government of Punjab, Mr SM Goel, Additional Director cum IA, Major Singh, Director, MSME, Ludhiana, besides several others.
