Ludhiana, 24 September’17: PCTE Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences organized a free medical camp, in collaboration with Global Heart Hospital, Ludhiana. About 250 people from nearby villages, students, faculty members and staff of PCTE availed this facility. The camp was organized with an aim to provide healthcare services and to aware people about general health.
Dr. Shashikant and Dr. Neha Sharma from Global Heart Hospital and Dr. Jasleen Kaur from Enamile Dental provided their services during the camp. Free medicines, tooth enamel, tooth pastes and mouth washes, sponsored by pepsodent were also distributed to the patients during the camp. Dr. Yogesh Gupta, Unit Head, Pharmacy Block appreciated the facilities extended by the hospital and staff. The visitors also appreciated and thanked the entire team for organizing the camp.
Students actively participated and got the real experience of dispensing the medicines and counseling the patients. They also learned about the management skills required in hospital and clinics. Ms. Linda, student, BSc. MLS, said “It was a great experience to implement theoretical knowledge in such a practical way, in addition it is a noble cause.”
Dr. K.N.S Kang, Director General, PCTE Group of Institutes was also present during the occasion and said that good health always plays crucial role in achieving our goals and these types of camps act as precautionary measure to diagnose and treat various health problems. Dr. Kang congratulated the entire staff for successfully organizing the camp. The end of this activity saw many of them sporting a happy smile, eyes glowing with kindness and a sense of gratitude.
